Lithonia, GA –The colorful banners and signs that have been placed around New Birth Missionary Baptist Church beckons everyone who enters to carry out the church’s new vision: “Love Like Him, Live Like Him and Lead Like Him.” The vision statement is one that Bishop Eddie L. Long, the church’s senior pastor, wants to keep in front of the congregation and instill so they will not perish, according to the bible scripture in Proverbs 29:18.

“The bible says where there is no vision, the people shall perish,” said Bishop Long. “The excitement at New Birth is overflowing about the power of our vision. Love Like Him, Live Like Him, and Lead Like Him is what our walk is all about.”

New Birth celebrated its new vision statement on Sunday, March 7 with deacons and choir members wearing T shirts bearing the statement. Fans with the statement were passed out to the congregation. Bishop Long preached a powerful sermon outlining how to “Love like Him, Live like Him and Lead like Him. Recording artist Gregory “Milkshake” Mayfield performed, along with the church’s college step team. The choir rendered a new inspirational song that was written and produced by Elder Anthony Randolph, who heads New Birth’s Worship and Arts Department.

“Love like Him, Live like Him and Lead like Him are principles that we believe will have a very positive impact on society,” Bishop Long said. “As we share our vision with others and they witness our example, you will see a difference in homes, in the workplace, and throughout the community.”

Bishop Long told the congregation: “This is not a theme. I want this to become who you are.”
